'If you will be spending any time at all on a Florida beach, this is THE tour to take!!! Learn fascinating details about those shells we can't resist collecting and how to help protect our threatened beach birds and turtles. Our guide made it all easy and interesting. "

We had a lovely evening with Wendy who is very passionate about the abundant wildlife in the area, her trip was very well organised, lots of fun and who knew that shells contain such fascinating little creatures.”

Do you know...

What's a sea shell?

Shell on a Shell and Beach Walks walking tour and eco-tour

It's the former home of a mollusk. A mollusk is a soft bodied animal that wears its skeleton on the outside - the opposite of humans who have soft bodies outside and our skeletons inside! You'll learn about and see, touch and hear about  our collection of 25 local shells.

Sea turtles nest on our beaches!

Sea turtle pictures from a Shell and Beach Walk walking tour and eco-tour

Loggerheads are the most common type of sea turtles on our coast. They can grow to 4 feet! Female sea turtles come back to lay their eggs on the same area of the Gulf Coast beach she was born. Find out more, including how to help keep these incredible, but endangered sea turtles safe.

There are no seagulls...

Seagulls from a Shell and Beach Walks walking tour and eco-tour

There is not a specific bird called a seagull. Seagull is a general term for members of the gull family. Laughing gulls, herring gulls and ring billed gulls are the most common in this area.  You'll find out how to tell them apart, and discover more about the birds that live on our coast.
